Rapid7, a provider of IT security risk analytics and insight software and cloud solutions, has announced its eighteenth consecutive quarter of record revenue.

The highlight of the quarter was the launch of two new security solutions: Rapid7 UserInsight and Rapid7 ControlsInsight. The solutions address the growing risks associated with endpoints, social business practices, and the consumerisation of IT through cloud services and mobile devices.

With the rapid growth of cloud and BYOD, end-users now access corporate data through a variety of a channels that are not managed by the IT team. Organisations need to get visibility into the risks associated with users, so they can be properly managed.

Rapid7 UserInsight aims to provide this by monitoring user activity across on-premise, cloud, and mobile environments, providing visibility into user risk, more effective incident response, and detection of compromised credentials.

Rapid7 ControlsInsight aims to enable users to gain visibility into how their assets, data, and user controls are deployed, how well they are configured, and whether the right investments are being made and utilised. ControlsInsight rates the effectiveness of endpoint controls based on an attacker-aware threat model, and provides the ability to track the progress being made by their security programs.

In the third quarter, Rapid7 also gained nearly 200 new customers, launched MetaModules in Metasploit Pro, which offers automation for common, complex security auditing activities, and introduced Mobilisafe AppSentinel which gives users a comprehensive visibility of the applications installed on devices used to access company data.

The company also launched Project Sonar in the third quarter, which invited security professionals to collaborate on security data research. It released RiskRater, a tool that enables security professionals to see how well they are managing potential risks in mobile, endpoints and users.
