Netgear has released a 24TB network attached storage (NAS) product which it claims to be the world’s fastest device of its kind.
The ReadyNAS 716 can support up to 500 users, claimed the firm, while offering unlimited data protection through unlimited data snapshots, disaster recovery through cloud-managed replication and real-time anti-virus to protect against malware threats.
Netgear said its latest product offers features and capabilities previously available only from large enterprise vendors and also uses a 10GE line rate on two built-in ports to offer the fastest HD streaming performance available.
Its 16GB memory is also claimed to be the highest available in the desktop NAS market.
Senior product marketing manager Matt Pahnke said: "We designed ReadyNAS 716 to be the world’s fastest desktop NAS, complete with unmatched data protection features and the ability to stream multiple HD 4K videos simultaneously.
"Whether you’re streaming a business presentation to clients around the globe or a lecture across a college campus, the ReadyNAS 716 is the only NAS product that has you covered."
