Fujitsu has launched a new smartphone application for British budget hotel chain Premier Inn enabling users to check hotel’s availability, make reservations and manage their bookings using their iPhone, Android, Nokia and BlackBerry devices.

According to the company, the smartphone application is free to download, and offers real-time availability of all 590 Premier Inn hotels, location-based information and photographs. Users can also manage their booking from start to finish, while on the move.

The company said the new smartphone application has been developed in partnership with Grapple Mobile. Fujitsu chose Grapple Mobile to develop the application, based on the company’s patented platform that enables apps to be created across multiple platforms.

Fujitsu UK & Ireland hospitality and retail industry consultant Sarah Kellett said Premier Inn wanted a smartphone app that would be user-friendly and accessible. Premier Inn’s cross-platform can be accessed by BlackBerrys, Androids and Nokia phones.

The company claims that the new Premier Inn app will shortly be available for download on iPhone, Android, Nokia and BlackBerry from the Premier Inn website, or from the Apple App Store and Android Market. It will also be available from Nokia Ovi Store and BlackBerry App World within the next two weeks.
