Property Network is making big technological strides forward by being the first to apply ‘big data’ methods to the property sector. Property Network is now challenging Rightmove and Zoopla by harnessing the power of social media and pioneering two market-firsts to help both its users and estate/letting agents.
As the UK’s largest social media-based property portal,Property Network has been using social plug-ins, such as Facebook Connect, to help users find a community or neighbourhood that according to preference data, they would fit into best.
This social, demographic and lifestyle data is enriched with consumer property marketing and search requirements, thus allowing the application to create up-to-date social-demographical profiles of local areas. It has used these demographics to power two new tools:
Community Pages – Act as a guide for a particular area so home movers can get to know an area before they commit to a new property. This includes a breakdown of the average family size, job sector, education-level, gender, even music taste of existing residents, as well as information on local schools, crime, and market trends.
Market Intelligence Reports – Provide Property Network’s estate/letting agents with valuable insights on local consumer behaviour from its 3.1 million community audience. Such insights include recommended incentives, identifying commuting routes, location targeting and seller/landlord profiling.
CEO of Property Network, Sohail Rashid, said, "These are the most revolutionary tools to hit the property market in recent years. We’ve been working on these products tirelessly over the past few months and we’ve created something completely unique and quite frankly, amazing. Rightmove and Zoopla have a lot of catching up to do."
Sohail continues, "It’s our mission to revolutionise the property market and help people benefit from the advances in social and data driven technology. We want to bring something new to the table for consumers while making it easier for property advertisers to reap the benefits that data rich social networks offer. Everybody wins."
Property Network is also offering its anonymous data for use by other groups including dating websites, holiday companies, local governments and charities, including Neighbourhood Watch.
