Azimo, a money transfer company, has agreed to let WorldPay handle its payment processing system as it looks to expand outside the UK.

The UK-based company, which recently secured a $1,000,000+ Seed investment, selected WorldPay because it has over 200 alternative processing services and is connected to more than 50 local currency clearing systems.

This would allow users to choose their preferred payment methods online, according to Azimo.

Shane Happach, chief commercial officer of WorldPay’s eCommerce division, said money transfer services now handle over $500bn of remittances every year.

"It has never been so important to provide customers with the optimum experience online so they can send money easily, fast and at the lowest cost to help maximise transactions, especially when looking to expand internationally," he explained.

Michael Kent, CEO at Azimo, said: "Working with WorldPay will ensure we provide our customers with a seamless and safe environment to transfer money online and give us the global reach to expand internationally."
