ENSPERT, a provider of media convergence offering and device, has unveiled global mobile TV chip-set and offering based on Google’s Android OS at International CES.
The new mobile offerings suite consists of a mobile TV reception chipset, Android tablet player and mobile TV router, which receives and transmits mobile signals via Wi-Fi, allowing other devices not equipped with ASTC-M/H reception chip to display in ATSC-M/H format and supports ATSC-M/H.
The company said the new offering meets the US standard for mobile TV in North America, ISDC-T (1-Seg) for Japan, Brazil and South America and T-DMB and DAB for Korea and Europe.
The mobile TV reception offering can be applied to the Android tablet, smartphones, PDA and PC and laptop.
The company has also unveiled a suite of smart connected devices that leverage the open-source Android OS including smartphones, multi-device media convergence hubs, VoIP and SoIP systems, and mobile hotspots.
ENSPERT head of operations Bae Sung Ok said they are entering the mobile TV offerings market in 2011 targeting the US, Europe, Japan, Central and South America.
"With our competitiveness in the mobile broadcasting chip-set sector in Korea, we are planning to become an organisation that can provide essential components for media convergence devices coupled with software offerings that support the technology," Ok said.
