IT insurance solutions provider Northdoor has won a contract to provide its underwriting system to Dale Underwriting Partners.

Northdoor’s NdexInsure suite is an open modular system that can be integrated into existing systems and technology, and key modules selected for the initial roll-out include policy administration, data warehouse, and enhanced outward reinsurance and binder functionality.

The new Lloyd’s Syndicate 1729 – led by Duncan Dale – will be managed by Asta, and will target a range of property, casualty insurance and reinsurance lines.

The NdexInsure technology is due to be used by the group when it begins underwriting from January 1 next year.

Northdoor has worked with other Lloyd’s startups, including WR Berkley, Ark Syndicate and Managing Agency Partners.

Northdoor’s solution has a shared IP model, which the firm claims gives startups scalability and functionality as they grow.

Dale said: "We needed an underwriting system that is flexible enough to cater for our needs now, but also has the capacity to grow with us as the syndicate’s needs evolve. With its shared IP and modular approach, NdexInsure perfectly meets our business requirements."
