Super Micro Computer, a provider of server technology and green computing, has launched its next-generation Uni-processor (UP) platforms based on the new Intel P67 and Q67 chipsets optimised for Intel 2nd Generation Core i7/i5/i3 processors at International CES.

The company said the C7P67 and C7Q67-based systems feature new technology such as USB 3.0 and SATA 3.0, and are capable of delivering data transfer rates of up to 5 Gb/sec and 6 Gb/sec, respectively.

In addition, these systems provide optional Disk On Module (DOM) support for boot-capable storage devices and deliver fast conversion of video files, enhanced visual quality, colour fidelity for HD playback and significant 3D performance.

Supermicro senior vice president of worldwide sales Phidias Chou said these newest additions to their UP product portfolio deliver server-class quality and technology benefits to the workstation and high-end desktop markets.

"Designed with the latest chipsets from Intel, these feature-rich platforms are ideal for both personal workstations and gaming offerings," Chou said.
