Siemens Enterprise Communications, a provider of end-to-end enterprise communications, has been selected as a technology partner by Kent County Council (KCC), to implement a user converged IP telephony and unified communications (UC) offering.
The KCC picked Siemen’s OpenScape Unified Communications Server (OUCS) architecture, which is expected to aid the council in implementing flexible work hours; help them promote the green cause by reducing travel requirements; and in enhancing working with partners across the county.
KCC ICT Operations head Lisa Beck said the use of new technology will help the county to save while delivering better services to the Kent citizen.
Siemens Enterprise Communications director of Public Sector Andy Clark said the use of its technologies such as VoIP (Voice over Internet protocol) and UC will enable the county to save while creating a conducive environment to its citizens.
"Siemens Enterprise will support KCC in its attempts to become a regional hub by providing hosted voice and UC services," Clark said.
