Swedish eye tracking technology provider Tobii Technology has partnered with Dell OEM Solutions to incorporate Tobii EyeMobile eye tracking technology onto a tablet platform.
The new eye tracking technology allows users to have hands-free access to the tablet, apps, Internet, e-books, social media as well as control the tablet with movement of the eyes.
As part of the collaboration, Dell OEM Solutions will integrate the eye tracking technology to the Dell Latitude 10 tablet, which is powered by Intel Clover Trail Atom Dual Core 1.8Ghz processor.
Tobii Assistive Technology president Oscar Werner said the project with Dell OEM Solutions, to provide the company’s eye trackers and software on a tablet platform will allow the individuals with physical impairments access to the same technological advances that everyone else enjoys.
"They can now take EyeMobile with them wherever they go to browse the internet," Werner said.
"With the Dell Latitude and ProSupport for OEM we can deliver a solution that is cost-effective and offers great value and level of support."
Dell OEM Solutions vice president and general manager Joyce Mullen said, "By partnering with Tobii, we have been able to help provide a product that will significantly improve the lives of those who use it."
The partnership is expected to help Tobii to offer a tested platform to customers who need mobile systems with global support.
In March 2013, Tobii launched its second-generation PCEye Go eye tracker.
