Adult video actresses topped the list in Japan, while in Germany, it was cul-de-sacs.

Hua Shan, a Chinese mountain, was the most searched for article in the Netherlands.

In Iran, Tehran and the New Year celebrations in that country took the number one and two slots respectively.

Entries about sex and homosexuality were also among the top ten searches for the Asian country.

Published by Johan Gunnarsson, a Swedish software engineer, as part of the Wikitrends project, it saw Grey’s Anatomy top Italian search list.

Both Russia and Sweden saw articles about their countries topping the lists in those countries.

It was a toss-up between Justin Bieber and British boy band One Direction for the most searched term in the music list.
