The number of people accessing Facebook via their mobile phones grew around 20% both in the US and the UK during June 2013.
The social networking site’s US mobile monthly active users rose 18%, while it reported 22% growth in the UK to about 22 million users over the corresponding period previous year.
Facebook Britain and Southern Europe regional director, James Quarles, said that as people are away and on holiday, it provides a different opportunity for brands to think differently about Facebook.
"We see this as a fantastic opportunity with empirical evidence of people staying engaged on mobile phones and using Facebook," Quarles said.
"When people are that engaged, checking their Facebook 14 times a day, if advertisers can deliver the right message to the right audience you can really see some business impact."
Facebook users reportedly open the app about 10 to 15 times per day and about 751 million people globally use the social network’s mobile service.
Facebook is also launching the new ‘Graph Search’ feature across North America, which enables users to find information and new connections on the site using key phrases.

The social networking firm also revealed plans not to allow ads to appear on pages with sexual or violent content, as part of its efforts address concerns about offensive content.
