Adobe reports decline in Q2 revenue and profit

The company had 700 thousand paid Creative Cloud subscriptions by the end of Q2.

Adobe Systems has reported revenue of $1.01bn for the second quarter of 2013, compared to $1.12bn for the same period in 2012.

The company’s net income declined to $76.54m, or $0.15 per share, compared to $223.8m, or $0.45 per share, for the same period last year.

Operating income fell to $111.3m for the quarter, compared to $305.1m for the same period in the corresponding year.

Revenue from products declined to $644.8m for the quarter, compared to $871m in the year ago period.

Subscription revenue increased to $254.52m for the quarter, compared to $159m for the same period previous year.

The company said it had 700 thousand paid Creative Cloud subscriptions by the end of Q2, an increase of 221 thousand when compared to the number of subscriptions as of the end of Q1 fiscal year 2013.

Adobe Marketing Cloud had a quarterly revenue of $229.6m, with bookings growth of over 25%.
