VMware has joined hands with SAP to offer the SAP applications through the Vmware’s cloud infrastructure or within hybrid deployments.

The new model will deliver SAP Core Solutions and SAP HANA in the VMware vCloud Hybrid Service and the SAP HANA One Premium, a new subscription-based 64GB instance of SAP HANA platform on VMware vCloud Suite and the VMware vCloud Hybrid Service.

SAP Co-CEO and executive board member, Bill McDermott, said: "The SAP ecosystem plays a vital role in helping our customers be best-run businesses."

The new model is designed to allow customers to consume SAP applications in the cloud service in an OpEx model as a fully managed subscription service for both software and infrastructure services.

According to the company, the offerings are operated by VMware, vCloud Hybrid Service allow onsite and offsite IT environments to be connected and integrated with common management, while using existing management tools and network and security infrastructure.

VMware CEO Pat Gelsinger said that the company aims to simplify IT and enable customers to run any application at the place of their choice.

"We are pleased to expand our partnership with SAP to offer customers added choice for deploying SAP Core Solutions and HANA in production cloud environments with the support of SAP and VMware behind them," Gelsinger added.
