The Cloud Security Company Panda Security has launched a new version of its cloud-based consumer antivirus service, Panda Cloud Antivirus v2.1.
The product incorporates new technologies that claimed to detect and neutralise malware that exploits zero-day vulnerabilities in applications like Office, Adobe or Java as an infection vector.
Panda Cloud Antivirus 2.1 provides real-time protection for Windows 8 applications, as well as provides several improvements to its interface.
Panda Cloud Antivirus product manager Alberto Anon said the company identifies an average of 73,000 new malware strains each day and being able to neutralise these threats before they infect the PC is essential.
"Panda Cloud Antivirus optimizes protection based on the real-time knowledge gathered from our global user community. Our behavior-based scanning technologies protect against both known and unknown, or zero-day, threats," Anon said.
The improvements are based on the feedback received from the active community of Panda Cloud Antivirus users though the Panda Cloud Antivirus Forum.
