HP has unveiled the new HP MSA 2040 Storage system, enhancements to the HP StoreEasy Storage portfolio and the new program for HP channel partners to maximize storage investments by small and midsize businesses (SMB) as well as government agencies.

The next generation MSA entry disk array is claimed to simplify management and improve the performance to speed up by four times compared to the external disk storage systems.

According to the company, the improved HP StoreEasy Storage portfolio allows SMBs to manage and protect growing amounts of file data without the need for special skills.

HP Storage Division senior VP and general manager, David Scott, said that virtualisation and other emerging workloads hinder the growth of SMBs due to complexities.

"Simply StoreIT allows our partners to serve their small and midsized customers who are stressed for time, budget and resources to support a growing business, with a stress-free storage solution," Scott added.

Both the products are made available under the HP’s new Simply StoreIT program, which offers training, marketing and incentives for HP channel partners to address the challenges faced by the small and midsized customers.

The new HP MSA 2040 Storage offers 16Gb Fiber Channel connectivity and also supports increased demand.
