The UK is planning to introduce a code of conduct, which would ban viewing of pornography through WiFi at public areas such as cafes and railway stations to prevent viewing by kids.

Prime Minister David Cameron said that the move would offer good, clean WiFi in public spaces, giving parents confidence that their kids will not be able to access illegal websites on smartphones or mobile computers.

"We are promoting good, clean, WiFi in local cafes and elsewhere to make sure that people have confidence in public WiFi systems so that they are not going to see things they shouldn’t," the Prime Minister told The Telegraph.

The move to impose ban on WiFi where children are likely to be present follows high-profile campaigning by children charities for a complete ban on improper sites in public areas.

Internet firms could automatically restrict access, or individual WiFi providers will be responsible to implement the ban.

Wireless internet access in public places has increased rapidly in recent years as technology improved and is now widely being accessible.

According to the children charities, parents are able to limit and keep watch over their children’s web use while they are at home, while accessing these content outside is still be be regulated.

The new deal is being discussed between internet service providers and government officials since several months.
