Samsung has promoted it’s mobile head, JK Shin and consumer electronics head, Boo-keun Yoo, who will now serve alongside present CEO, Oh-Hyun Kwon.

As part of the move, Shin will be responsible for the IT and mobile communications division while Yoon will continue to oversee the consumer electronics division. Kwon will remain as CEO and Board of Directors chairman while overseeing the company’s component business.

"The new leadership structure will serve to clarify and enhance independent management of the two set divisions, as well as the independent management of the set and component businesses," said Samsung in a statement.

Samsung’s move comes after the launch of new Galaxy S4 smartphone on 14 March in New York.

Features of the new smartphone include Full HD Super AMOLED display and five-inch with 441ppi, ‘Samsung Smart Pause’ and 13 megapixel rear camera.

The device supports HSPA+42 Mbps and 4G LTE, with the LTE version supporting up to six different band sets that allow functioning in most LTE coverage areas.
