Samsung has released a patch to fix the Exynos vulnerability that prevents its range of its smartphones, including Galaxy SIII, from being hacked.
Initially launched in the UK, the patch was launched to fix a security issue that would leave physical memory on any Samsung Exynos processor powered device open to hacking, which was first discovered on 16 December 2012.
Along with the Exynos patch, several other fixes to small issues have been incorporated in the update.
The South Korean firm has also released the update to patch the ‘sudden death’ issue that was initially mentioned on Reddit, which caused Samsung manufactured smartphones to ‘brick’ – failing to turn on following a night of charging or after turning off the screen.
The affected devices include the Galaxy S2, Note 2, Note 10.1 and also other devices that use the same Exynos processor.
