Kevin Mathers, UK Sales Director for Google, has said that British schoolchildren are failing to be taught enough science and technology.

Commenting in an interview with London School of Business and Finance (LSBF), Kevin Mathers said that schoolchildren don’t appreciate the importance that the role of science and technology can play in their education.

He said: "For British schoolchildren today, there is unfortunately not enough emphasis on science and technology. More importantly I don’t think the average school kid believes that science is driving benefits for mankind."

"We need to advocate its importance to them and our leaders today because it has so much to offer us as individuals and as a society."

Holding an MBA and a degree in engineering, Kevin Mathers gave the following advice to students: "It’s all about belief and passion. Take a step back and think ‘what are the things that get me out of bed?’ Work out what it is that you’re passionate about and go and find a job as closely connected to that as possible."
