British workers are likely to spend up to three working hours online Christmas shopping during the holiday season, which could add up to a total of 96 million working hour spent on shopping, according to a new finding.

The survey conducted by the Post Office, also revealed that 78% of the working population in UK plan to do their Christmas shopping online and 20% expect the process to be quicker when compared to previous years.

Women are expected to spend an average of three hours and four minutes per day, for shopping online, while men are expected to spend 15 minutes more than women with three hours and 19 minutes for shopping online at their workplace.

32% of the British workforce is planning to go for online shopping through their mobile devices and 6% is planning to do the same using their smart TV.

According to the survey, 23% of Britishers are planning to buy gifts using click and collect services, and 10% are even planning to order their Christmas turkey online using their mobile devices.

The Telegraph reported Post Office chief marketing officer Pete Markey saying: "It seems this Christmas could be the easiest ever as the benefits of technology have crept into every part of our lives, leading to shopping from the sofa or even from our beds."
