Federal Communications Commission FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler expects that Internet Service providers might sue the US Government over net neutrality rules.
Reuters reported Tom Wheeler saying: "Let’s make sure that we understand what is going on here. The big dogs are going to sue regardless of what comes out.
"We need to make sure that we have sustainable rules, and that starts with making sure that we have addressed the multiplicity of issues that come along and are likely to be raised."
The prediction comes after US President Barack Obama favoured net neutrality and said internet service providers should be regulated like a public utility, to grant equal access to all content providers.
Obama also wanted to reclassify the Internet as a Title II service, which would give more power to the FCC to regulate them.
Wheeler added, "Every time in this whole discussion, anytime the commission has been moved to do something, one of the big dogs have gone to sue, so I guess we should be informed by history."
In 2012, AT&T threatened to stop investing in high-speed Internet connections across 100 cities until the Web rules were settled.
