Apple will be holding a press event on October 16 in Los Angeles which could be the launch for the company’s next generation iPad Air along with an upgraded version of its Mac.
The invitation features a tagline saying "It’s been way too long" which is reportedly hinting towards the Mac lineup which has not been upgraded for the past two years.
Previous reports by tech blogger Jack March suggested that Apple could introduce two iMacs: a 27-inch iMac featuring a Retina 5K display with 5120×2880 pixel resolution, and a smaller 21-inch iMac without the Retina display.
Both the iMacs are expected to feature Intel i7-4790K Haswell processors.
In June, Apple reported an 18% increase in Mac sales.
Some reports suggest that the event could also see the launch of upgraded version of Apple TV, a set top box which also connects to the internet. The new Apple TV is expected to be connected to Homekit which will allow users to communicate with selected household appliances like a thermostat and lighting through iOS8.
The company has not upgraded its iPad for the past four years, which is still the top selling product in the tablet market, reported The Telegraph.
The new iPad is expected to feature a bigger 12.9-inch display, along with a fingerprint scanner, and is likely to be powered by an A8 processor.
