Thrifty shoppers can now benefit from cheaper home broadband services than ever before thanks to a new cut-price offering from high-street chain 99p Stores.
The company, which recently opened its 250th UK store, is putting up a limited time offer of 24MB broadband (depending on customer location) for the perhaps unsurprising cost of 99p a week plus line rental for the first six months, rising to £8.50 a month plus line rental following this.
Customers will get "truly unlimited" downloads, 99p Stores states, allowing them to play games and download catch-up TV and films without worrying about extra costs.
Subscribers are required to take out a 24-month contract with 99p Stores, and may also incur installation fees depending on the status of the line connection at each individual property.
The network will be provided by Home Telecom, which provides connections to thousands of businesses across the UK across its 60,000-strong telephone line network, including 4,500 estate agents, 1,500 garage forecourts, 3,500 retail shops and 15,000 homes.
Customers also benefit from cheap phone services, as alongside 100 free inclusive minutes to UK landlines, local and national calls come in at 2.5p a minute, with mobile calls costing just 10p, as the company says it does not charge users a connection charge.
"The single price point market has become mainstream and therefore we are developing concepts and services that connect with the mainstream customer," said Tony Brown, chief operating officer at 99p Stores.
"Now, with our partnership with Home Telecom we can broaden our offer. We will keep innovating from a product point of view to meet expectations of our customers."
