Qualcomm has introduced Snapdragon 210 processor which will offer support integrated multimode 3G/4G LTE and LTE Dual SIM for entry-level smartphones.
The new processor will provide LTE connectivity with 4G LTE-Advanced Cat 4 Carrier Aggregation, LTE Dual SIM/Dual and LTE Broadcast Standby.
The chip will allow entry level tablets and smartphone users to enjoy enhanced multimedia experience with HD playback at lower price.
The processor is expected to increase the camera capacity which could let 8 megapixel camera support computational camera functionalities like high dynamic range (HDR), Zero Shutter Lag, autofocus, auto white balance and auto exposure.
The processor will also reduce the battery charging time without fast charging technology.
Snapdragon 210 also includes 4G LTE-Advanced Cat 4 Carrier Aggregation, RF transceiver chip WTR2955, and the Qualcomm RF360 front end solution for multiband and multimode support.
As for the 3G/4G LTE connected tablets the company announced that the reference design will feature Snapdragon 410 and 210 processors along with Qualcomm RF360 front-end solutions which would enable device makers to customise LTE Advanced products.
Qualcomm Technologies senior vice president Jeff Lorbeck said: "We are committed to delivering high-performance connected mobile experiences across all tiers of our product portfolio."
"These announcements further cement our commitment in broadly driving LTE and LTE Advanced to enable our customers the flexibility to deliver high-speed connectivity and an advanced mobile experience at affordable prices."
