NetApp has introduced new High-Performance Storage (HPS) Rack that is claimed to bring simplicity, economy and ease of deployment to data-Intensive industries looking to manage growing data volumes.

The new prepackaged and preconfigured storage application is built on the NetApp E-Series platform and delivers high performance that helps manage increasing data growth.

NetApp E-Series applications are designed to process, analyse, manage and access data at scale to meet customers’ needs in industries requiring applications with dedicated workloads, including oil and gas, financial services, media and entertainment, high-performance computing, and the public sector.

The new application includes preconfigured servers, management and monitoring software and the open-source Lustre parallel file system, enabling organisations to reduce deployment time, lower risk, reduce total cost of ownership and speed time to results.

In addition, the preconfigured storage application can integrate Terascala LustreStack software to provide enhanced management and extensive analytics.

The NetApp HPS Rack will allows customer to reduce the time and resources needed to architect, design, and implement HPC storage configurations.

NetApp Product and Solutions Marketing vice president Brendon Howe said: "The NetApp HPS Rack integrates critical building blocks and removes many of the deployment challenges associated with HPC management, ultimately helping customers deploy low-risk solutions that unlock innovation quickly and gain critical competitive advantage in their markets."
