Hosting giant Rackspace has updated its DevOps Automation Service with Windows support and extra environment stacks.

Chef, Rails, Node.js, PHP, Tomcat and Python are now supported on the automated application environment, and have been unveiled alongside a new advisory service.

Chris Jackson, practice area CTO of DevOps, said: "Extending our support to Windows and expanding the environment stacks we support is just one example of how we are always working to build on the success of our initial offering.

"Fundamentally, these enhancements let our customers build and deploy features faster, quickly scale out their technology infrastructure and improve developer productivity."

The advisory services include workshops, strategy planning and other professional services, and like the rest of the package will be available in the US and the UK.

Bill Clerico, chief executive at WePay, said: "At WePay, we have doubled our transaction volume from December to March of this year which puts a huge load on our servers.

"Rackspace specialists help set up Chef scripts, configure our servers, configure monitoring and more."
