Microsoft has started a countdown on the Nokia Conversations blog which reveals a new device will be released tomorrow.

The countdown is accompanies by a Nokia X-like logo which alludes to a second generation of Nokia X devices which run on Google’s Android operating system.

On the blog, Microsoft said: "SUMMER BRINGS OUT OUR INNER GLOW. Stay tuned to Conversations to find out what we’ve got in store."

Nokia X devices may run from Android, but Microsoft and Nokia brought its apps and aesthetics to the forefront. Microsoft aimed the Nokia X devices at emerging markets, pricing them competitively to scoop up buyers into the Microsoft ecosystem.

Last month, leaked specs hinted at the X2 devices sporting 1GB of RAM and a dual-core processor. As these specification are quite low, it can assumed that the device released tomorrow will again be aimed at emerging markets.

The countdown clock ends tomorrow at 8am BST, another clue as to where the device may be aimed. Too early for US or EU, but around lunchtime for some developing mobile markets where Microsoft aims to secure a foothold.
