1. Just Eat

The free app works by allowing users to search by postcode to find dozens of local restaurants in their area. Simply click to order your meal and then pay by cash on delivery or card online.

The app, which is available for iOS, Windows 8 and Android, shows the star rating for each restaurant, which has been developed by users who have ordered for food from that particular restaurant in the past.

2. Hungryhouse.co.uk

Just for Android, this free app allows users to browse through menus and have food delivered to wherever they are.

Released by online food ordering site, hungryhouse.co.uk, the app uses your postcode or GPS position to find participating local restaurants.

Although the app isn’t available in all areas, hungryhouse gives you an estimated delivery time and doesn’t charge you a premium.

3. Domino’s Pizza

Using the iOS and Android app, users can order anything on the menu and pay with credit card, PayPal or choose to pay by cash on delivery. The app allows users to build their own pizza or use the Pizza Slot Machine, which will suggest a pizza instead.

There’s also a money-off voucher game to get a discount on your next order and a tracker to help you track your order.

The pizza delivery chain said this week that it is introducing a function on its mobile app that lets customers place orders by speaking with a computer-generated voice named Dom.
