Facebook is looking to launch a mobile-ad network at the F8 developer conference in San Francisco later in April.

Using the network, the company will leverage its user database to marketers, which they would use to advertise their products and services on mobile apps and games.

The social network site’s user base, which has one billion users, is expected to improve ad targeting, expand its reach and make more money, according to reports.

Facebook earned $1.24bn in revenue through mobile ads for the last three months of 2013, which accounts for over 50% of the company’s overall ad revenue.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the network will initially be offered to a limited number of ad partners followed by an expansion to a larger base.

The users will not have an option of blocking the ads.
