Google has filed a patent that incorporates micro camera system into its future smart contact lens that allows users to capture photos of their direct line of vision.
The latest patent filing comes after Google introduced a prototype smart contact lens that can measure the glucose levels in tears.
According to the filing, the smart lens could be controlled via a system of unique blinking patterns, while its sensors can collect information from wearers’ surroundings including light, colour patterns, objects and faces, according to PatentBolt.
Further, the data could be easily processed and offer wearers with information on the display within the device.
The new smart contact lens’ ‘superzoom’ feature could allow users with sight-impaired to have a clear vision as well may notify blind users when to cross a busy road.
Further, the smart lens could deliver a command to remote device including smartphone, to leave out a voice-generated alert concerning the approaching road.
Google is working on the function of camera-embedded lenses alongside its wearable computer Glass.
