Search engine giant Google’s Motorola Mobility unit has lost a bid to seal ‘highly confidential’ records of its patent-licensing negotiations with South Korea based Samsung Electronics that came into light Samsung’s intellectual property lawsuit against Apple in California, US.
According to filing by Motorola Mobility, the document comprises summary of a licensing negotiation between Motorola and Samsung that happened quiet time ago.
The document was filed as a reveal supporting Apple’s move to topple Samsung witnesses, Bloomberg reported.
The filing also revealed that the document may put out financial terms, license rates, payment directions, names of patented products and technologies, and the geographic extent of the deal.
Apple has won $1.05bn in damages from South Korea-based Samsung in August in the global fight for supremacy in the $219bn worldwide smartphone market.
Both the firms have claimed each other of infringing designs and technology for mobile devices and have been involved in patent wars on four continents.
