British adults who cheat on their partners are more likely to do it using a Samsung device than any other smartphone brand, a survey has found.
Samsung devices were the preferred handset for 54% of British men and 48% of women, with Apple’s iPhone in second place for 24% of men and 28% of women, research by AshleyMadison.com, the world’s largest extra-marital dating site, found.
Blackberry rounded out the top three with 8% and 4% respectively.
"Technology is important for our members," Christoph Kraemer, AshleyMadison.com’s European communications director, said of the results. "The very nature of having a secret affair means people are short of time, so they want speed and first rate functionality from a mobile. This survey is a vote of confidence in Samsung from the cheating community."

Male and female members of the site, which has over 20 million users in 30 countries, including just under a million users in the UK, responded to questions about their preferred technology for conducting secret affairs, including how often and where they send adult text messages, or ‘sexts.’
The survey found that 37% of male AshleyMadison.com members in Britain admitted to sending sext messages 5-7 times a week, but that 42% of women also did the same. Men were more likely to sext from work (36%), women from the supermarket (31%).
Overall, men preferred using their mobile phone to message a lover, with 75% of those questioned using such a method as opposed to 69% of women. However, the fairer sex were more likely to use a tablet to do so, with 24% of women saying they preferred to do so, compared to17% of men.
