Hackers allegedly stole the data of 158,000 users of Samsung’s web-based TV service Boxee.tv had their data stolen in a hack.
The cyber criminals reportedly leaked names, email addresses, message histories, and partially protected log-in credentials of the service’s forum users, as well as stealing company daya.
According to security firm Risk Based Security, the 800MB dump contained about 172,000 e-mail addresses, in addition to 77,061 Gmail accounts.
Hackers had also compromised users’ encrypted passwords, password modified dates, group IDs, date of birth, IP addresses, Boxee site activity, in addition to their complete personal message history.
Not all the users of the TV service were affected with the attack, only those using the same credentials for both the service and the community forum.
However, Boxee.tv users have been warned to update their password immediately.
