Despite being in the wake of a copyright legal battle, Kim Dotcom is already making plans for his next business venture.
Dotcom plans to launch a music based service called Megabox and is already working to launch the new site soon.
Code was 90% done. Servers on the way. Lawyers, partners and investors ready. Be patient. It’s coming," said Kim Dotcom in a tweet about Megabox.
Dotcom gave a preview of the new service on YouTube which looks like it will be a platform that brings artists and music junkies together online.
"This is what they don’t want you to have. Unchaining artists and fans. Megabox is coming soon," said Dotcom.
Megaupload Founder, Kim Dotcom, was arrested in January after authorities, which included the FBI, shut down Megaupload for online piracy.
U.S prosecutors accused the site of inflicting copyright holders with losses over $500m, while the company generated $175m in revenues.
The file hosting service, Megaupload.com, asked for U.S. criminal charges against the company to be dismissed in June this year, arguing that the U.S. had no jurisdiction over the Hong Kong based service.
New Zealand Prime Minister, John Key, recent apologised to Kim Dotcom for the government illegally spying on him prior to his arrest.
Key said the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) only has the authority to spy on foreigners; however, Dotcom has been a citizen since 2010.
A New Zealand court had also ruled earlier this year that search warrants used to raid the mansion of the Megaupload founder were illegal.
