Everest Data Centres, the privately owned data centre operator, has selected SSE Telecoms, a provider of network infrastructure and data centre services, to ensure that Everest’s new 66,180 square foot Reading facility is connected to the company’s existing sites in Slough and London Docklands.
SSE Telecoms implemented a 190km diverse three site dark fibre network to connect Everest Data Centres’ new 1,000 rack, 6 MVA Reading facility to its existing site in London Docklands, and also to connect the London site to Everest’s Slough facility.
Everest Data Centres chose SSE Telecoms for the implementation as it was able to deliver a fibre rich network within close proximity of all of Everest’s facilities, as well as direct network routes between the company’s core sites. SSE Telecoms was also able to deliver Ethernet, internet access and wavelength services to Everest Data Centres.
Ed Butler, MD at Everest Data Centres, commented: "As we pride ourselves on providing a first-class service to our customers by delivering quality and secure data centre solutions as standard, our expectations were extremely high at the outset. With a service provider as trusted as SSE Telecoms on board, we are in no doubt that our current and long-term needs are fully understood and can be met without fail. Crucially, we are also able to approach our plans for further expansion with confidence, as we look to establish a site in the M25 periphery in the near future."
