Apple and Samsung have agreed to attend a mediation session scheduled this February where they will resolve some of the ongoing legal patent battle.
According to a court filing, Apple CEO Tim Cook and Samsung CEO Oh-Hyun Kwon will attend the session along with three to four in-house lawyers and no outside counsel will attend the meeting.
The session will be held ahead of their clash in court in March 2014 over smartphone.
The planned discussions come not too long after the US District Court ordered both CEOs to hold settlement talks prior to a new patent infringement trial.
Both smartphone makers have been involved in several smartphone patent issues across several countries.
In December 2013, Apple won a patent infringement lawsuit against Samsung after South Korean court ruled the iPhone maker had not infringed three of Samsung’s mobile patents.
