Global government and enterprise spending on IT is anticipated to grow by 6.2% this year, a new report claimed.
The latest study from Forrester also revealed that the US will set the pace, accounting for 40% of the overall IT spend during the year.
The analyst firm projects that computer equipment spend would lag, with only tablets reporting strong growth, even though laptops and other PCs would see a modest recovery.
Communications equipment, however, is anticipated to exhibit better performance, mainly fuelled by business and government spending on smartphones and wireless equipment, further offsetting weakness in traditional routers, switches, and other wireline equipment.
During the year, IT outsourcing and hardware maintenance is anticipated to be weak mainly due to smaller deals and extensive discounting.
Forrester anticipates a strengthening global economy in 2015, which would drive global tech market growth higher across the board.
