1. The rise into the cloud

The move to the cloud is profoundly altering how firms have to approach security, and is one of the hot topics of the conference. How can firms keep their data safe when it is floating around cyber space, instead of being stored in a physical data centre? The debate is a hot topic of Focus 15.

2. Internet of things = internet of threats

Along with the cloud, IoT is one of the key factors effecting security. Security experts are battling to keep an ever expanding number of endpoints safe, from watches to factory robots. One of the panels at the events will look specifically at this issue, and the theme will emerge throughout.

3. Analytics

Many of the firms demonstrating products try and show how powerful the analytics they can offer are. Data that provides a better understanding of the enemy is seen as essential in the fight against cyber crime by attendees, and will be much discussed.

4. Chris Young’s vision for the future

The general manager of Intel Security has only been in place for a year and so is still setting out his vision for the business. His keynote address will be the first major event of the conference, and announcements within it will give us some hints about where he wants to go.

Plus, will the former senior vice president of products for RSA, EMC’s security business, be drawn on the mega Dell deal?

5. Partner power

Intel Security held a summit for its partners before the main conference kicked off, and partners will feature prominently throughout Focus15. This includes firms in the Security Innovation Associates program, who are demonstrating their products with booths in the exhibition.
