IBM has launched a data capture solution called IBM Datacap Insight Edition which will uses cognitive technology to help enterprises extract insights from enterprise documents.
The solution comes embedded with cognitive computing capabilities which apply imaging, analytics, and machine learning techniques to understand content and context of the documents.
It can classify and understand the document based on format and structure, as well words and numeric information to quickly help enterprises to take appropriate action.
IBM Datacap Insight Edition can also apply business rules to help enterprises in deciding what actions to be taken.
It can determine whether a document should be passed to a line of business system or should initiate a case and workflow for additional actions.
IBM Analytics Platforms GM Beth Smith said: "Integrating cognitive capabilities within document capture helps eliminate the need for time-consuming and costly manual intervention while maintaining the accuracy and speed required by businesses.
"And even more importantly, cognitive capture allows a business to learn as it processes more transactions to continuously improve speed and accuracy, while making evidence-based decisions around critical day-to-day tasks and interactions."
