A new government backed centre to showcase the UK’s cyber security industry has been launched in London.

The Cyber Demonstration Centre is designed to showcase the abilities of the UK industry, and allow both domestic and international customers to find products that they want. It will be based in the department of Business Innovation and Skills, and was developed by UK Trade and Industry (UKTI), the Department for Culture Media and Sport and the international technology defence firm Raytheon.

The government is planning on hosting foreign delegations to the centre to show off the burgeoning UK cyber security industry.

Lord Maude, Minister for Trade and Investment said: "I am delighted that companies in the cyber sector have a facility to demonstrate products to foreign clients and partners. It is important that we can offer them not only this facility but also the advice and support they need to export their technology. The UK is a world leader in this sector and many countries around the world have significant requirements that UK companies can offer high quality solutions".

Ed Vaizey MP, Minister for Culture and the Digital Economy said: . "The Government is investing £860m in the National Cyber Security Programme and the Cyber Growth Partnership is finding new ways to promote the UK cyber security industry. The new Cyber Centre and CGP Exchange being launched today will provide opportunities for our companies to promote their capabilities and sell their world-beating products at home and abroad, and contribute to UK growth and security."

Additionally there will be a Cyber Growth Partnership Exchange, a web portal for customers to find the products that they need. It will include an interactive map of cyber security firms. The Cyber Growth Partnership is a joint initiative between industry, academia and Government.
