Defence giant BAE Systems has become a platinum partner of the Cyber London accelerator, providing support and access to experts for those participating.
Cyber London is the first dedicated cyber security start-up accelerator in Europe. It runs a 14 week programme for teams of entrepreneurs, allowing them to meet with mentors and investors. The teams are able to pitch to potential investors at the end of the course.
Sir Iain Lobban, Chairman of Cyber London’s Advisory Board and former Director of the British intelligence service GCHQ, said:"It’s fantastic that such a prestigious company is supporting Cyber London’s efforts to make the UK a global hub for the cyber security companies of tomorrow. This shows genuine leadership in a vital sector of the global economy."
Richard Wilding, Director of New Ventures and Innovation at BAE Systems Applied Intelligence said: "Involvement in partnerships such as this one are a great way for us to help support the brightest new minds in the cyber security industry, while at the same time giving us a chance to refresh our own thinking and processes.
BAE has previously looked to bring in 100 graduates to work in its cyber security team.
