AMD believes it can gain valuable market share against Intel in the commercial space with its PRO series.
The company introduced its PRO A-Series mobile and desktop processors and the PRO A12 processor which is the first mobile processor with 12 compute cores.
It is also offers Radeon R7 graphics and up to 800 MHz GPU max Clock and 512 graphics compute cores.
It is this graphics power that it hopes will appeal to businesses and their growing desire for visualisation tools.
Although historically the enterprise market hasn’t cared too much about graphics advantages, the growing need for visualising data is creating a need.
Jon Hampton, Director Commercial Client Business Development, AMD, told CBR: "With the advent of data visualisation techniques, Big Data visualisation and collaboration tools like video conferencing, Skype for business, the marketplace is moving towards graphic intensive workloads even in commercial, which is really good for us."
Features of the mobile processor include ARM TrustZone, which runs on top of the hardware in order to enable tasks to run on the AMD Secure Processor.
It also features a commercial process with High-Efficiency Video Compression decoder capability, which allows notebooks to stream HD and Ultra HD content.
