Twitter founder Jack Dorsey looks certain to return as Twitter’s new full time CEO, as well as keeping the top job at the mobile payment company he founded, Square.

When Dick Costolo stepped down as head of the social media company this summer, its board insisted that his successor had to do the role full time. This was seen as ruling out Dorsey, despite his appointment as interim CEO.

That declaration seems to have fallen by the wayside, with Dorsey expected to keep his role at Square, and be announced as Costolo’s full time successor as early as today.

Dorsey has been solidifying his position in Twitter, increasing his shareholding in August.
