Accenture is bolstering its Irish operation, investing €25m into a new innovation centre in Dublin, which will house 200 staff, much to the delight of the country’s government.
The firm says that the staff at the development will have expertise in topics such as R&D and design in cognitive computing, the Internet of Things, advanced analytics, security and digital marketing.
Jo Deblaere, Accenture’s chief operating officer and chief executive – Europe, said: "Ireland has become a technology hub in Europe and is a rich source of highly skilled talent in science, technology and engineering. Given this, Dublin is the perfect location for our new Centre for Innovation."
The project has received support from the Irish Government. Taoiseach Enda Kenny welcomed the investment and new jobs it will bring, and said: "Accenture is to be commended for their vision as they take full advantage of new opportunities in cutting edge developments."
The Centre of Innovation will contain an Accenture Technology Lab too. It will be the latest of such operations from the firm, who have similar ones in San Jose, Washington, DC, Sophia Antipolis in France; Beijing, and Bangalore.
Accenture has been spending in recent times, acquiring Cloud Sherpas just a couple of weeks ago, and FusionX in August.
