British Airways has signed into Juniper Networks customer and partner’s portfolio to foster cloud adoption.

At an event in London today, Juniper Networks CEO Rami Rahim unveiled the airline as the company’s latest partner.

He said: "BA has recognised the importance and power of private cloud network. BA is now a partner and customer of Juniper Networks."

The network company has been tasked to build a private cloud data centre and IP/MPLS core backbone.

The new private cloud infrastructure will run many of the applications that underpin British Airways’ operations, including ticketing, check-in and baggage tracking.

The company said that the upgraded network core will link British Airways’ data centres and other operational sites around the U.K. to help ensure fast, reliable connectivity and digital communications.
