The UK needs to stay in the EU for greater business confidence.
That’s according to over two thirds (67%) of UK IT professionals who are the latest group to express their desire to remain a part of the much maligned EU.
Research from IP EXPO Europe found that the UK IT sector remains largely in favour of the UK remaining in the EU. Scotland’s IT leaders expressed the most business confidence in the EU (81%), with London (76%) and Wales (75%).
Bradley Maule-ffinch, IP EXPO Europe’s director of strategy, says: "With economic uncertainty at an all-time high, it’s a critical time for businesses in the European Union. It’ll be interesting to see how business confidence changes in the coming months."
Although the overall UK business confidence is relatively high, it has dropped slightly from 68% in Q4 2014 to 65% in Q1 2015, according to figures from Grant Thornton.
Prime Minister David Cameron suffered a defeat yesterday in the House of Commons regarding proposals surrounding the EU referendum.
The biggest concerns for UK business leaders were highlighted as being a lack of skilled works, economic uncertainty, regulation and red tape.
