Transfer deadline day may have passed, but the top teams from the Premier League are vying for top technology signings, with Chelsea following Manchester United in announcing a digital transformation partnership.
Chelsea have appointed Wipro as its digital and IT partner, with Wipro set to support the current League Champions in digital strategy, design and technology.
Experience is the focus of the partnership, much like Manchester United’s tie-up with HCL technologies, with Chelsea and Wipro set to work together to enhance fan experience.
Wipro will work with the London club to create and enhance not only the in-stadium, game-day experience but also fans’ digital experience, anytime and anywhere.
Bolstering this partnership is the fact that Wipro have significant presence and brand coverage in India – a market which is claimed to have over 50m Chelsea supporters.
Commenting on the partnership, Rajan Kohli, Senior Vice President and Global Head, Wipro Digital said, "[Chelsea’s] confidence in Wipro Digital is a testament of our value proposition for global sports and gaming entities. Our unique ‘Customer Journey Engineering’ methodology will enable Chelsea FC to continue to be a preeminent digital brand."
Christian Purslow, Managing Director, Chelsea FC said, "We plan on using this partnership to truly enhance the fan experience for millions of Chelsea supporters worldwide.
"Wipro’s expertise in building winning propositions that sit at the intersection of strategy, design and technology will help sustain our position as the digital leader in global sport.
