Hortonworks and Ernst & Young are set to work together in order to help companies overcome their Big Data challenges.
With Big Data companies facing an increasingly competitive market, collaborative partnerships like this could become more common as companies look to add more value to their offerings.
As part of the deal, Hortonworks will expand its platform with EY’s data and information management professional services.
The goal is to work together to guide clients on how to use technologies such as Hadoop in order to overcome challenges such as data storage and batch analysis.
Scott H. Schlesinger, principal at EY and EY Americas IT Advisory, said: "Many leading organizations are drowning in data, yet they lack the ability to analyze and drive value from the vast amount of information at their disposal."
The move helps Hortonworks to drive into a vertical which it will be hoping to gain traction in as it looks to continue to the growth of Hadoop and its own.
As businesses realise the need to utilise their data, they face the challenge of knowing what technology to use and how to use it. EY will be hoping with this partnership to become the go to company for direction.
