Uber‘s food delivery arm, UberEats, has started operations in San Francisco, US, this week.
The company said the first deliveries will take place in the downtown area and that users of the app will be able to choose from hot food menus.
The company has put out different menu choices for each day of the week with prices ranging from $7 to $12.
The service delivers food from local restaurants and is currently available in five other cities including New York, Austin, Los Angeles, Chicago, Barcelona and Toronto.
The company is also looking for new staff to join UberEats in 15 other cities, including Washington, Atlanta, Seattle, Houston, Nashville and Miami, according to the WSJ.
In San Francisco, UberEats will face competition from rival food delivery apps like Postmates couriers, GrubHub drivers, Sprig and Munchery.
